Welcome to the RUF North Carolina State University web page! We’re glad you found us! RUF
is a Christian ministry associated with the Presbyterian Church in
America (PCA), with chapters on over 100 college campuses across the
country (check out www.ruf.org ). The NCSU chapter began in the Fall of 2000.
Though we are Presbyterian in affiliation, we welcome students from all
walks of life, both the “convinced” and the “unconvinced”. None of us
has it all together, but we are people deeply committed to the gospel
of Jesus Christ, believing it has the power to change any person, any
community, any culture.
Take a look around at our site, and if you have any questions, feel free to contact our campus minister, Jeff Wilkins ( jwilkins@ruf.org ). We look forward to hearing from you!

| Ben Hackney being ... well ... Ben Hackney |
A Missions Opportunity for YOU!For those who you who don't know Ben Hackney, Ben is what we like to call a "super-senior" here at NC State. He's also the current student president of RUF at NC State. And, he will be spending this summer in Monterrey, Mexico serving as an intern with Mission to the World. What will Ben be doing? He will be working directly with short-term mission teams that come to Monterrey this summer to serve for 1-to-2 weeks, helping keep them organized and in the right places at the right times. He will also be helping with construction projects throughout the city, as well as helping with Vacation Bible school for children in the area. How can you be involved? In one of two ways: - Prayer support; Missions is challenging spiritually, emotional, and physically. Please pray that Ben would grow in his love for Jesus, and more importantly, grow in his knowlegde of Jesus' love for him. You can pray for his saftely ... his health ... his ability to be a blessing to both the permanent missionaries and short-term mission teams.
- Financial support; The full cost of Ben's trip is $3,500. This includes airfare, housing and living expenses, ministery materials and training. If you are so inclined, you can help financially support Ben by sending a tax-exempt donation to Mission to the World, PO Box 116284, Atlanta, GA 30368-6284. If you would please write "Ben Hackney, Monterrey, Mexico #13311" on the memo line of your check.
READ THROUGH THE BIBLE IN A YEAR!Let's
face it, it's hard to have any credibility with folks who wonder why
you believe (or DON'T believe) in Christianity when you
haven't even read the whole thing cover-to-cover. So why not read
through the Bbile? For the last few years, I have been preaching, using a relatively new translation of the Bible called The English Standard Version
(ESV). This is a very faithful and easy to read
translation that you should definitely have in your library. If you
don't, the good folks who own the right to the ESV have posted the
entire text
of the Bible online here. Even
more, they have published a number of yearly Bible reading plans; that
is, a daily assignment of reading that if you follow it every day, then
you'll have read through the Bible in one year. So they've made it so
easy to do: first, click on this link to go to the daily reading plan.
Each reading is only a few chapters at a time. Second, take the link
from your address bar and drag it into your Bookmark Bar. That way,
every day that you click on the link, you'll automatically go to that
day's reading. It's amazingly convenient and since everyone is online
EVERY day, it make it easy to remember what's going on.
Supporting the work of RUF
Lots of folks don't realize that Cathy and I have to raise our
support in order to keep the ministry here going. Our entire salary and
budget for the year is provided by the gracious donations of PCA
churches, friends of the ministry, alumni, and parents who have an
interest in this ministry continuing.
We are very proud to
announce that RUF has stepped up into the 1990's by offering the option
to make donations to RUF at NC State ONLINE. To go to the Online
Donations Page, click here.
So take a look at the new page and continue to pray for us as we seek to fund our ministry here at NC State.
